HOW CLEAN iS YOUR BATHROOM?


DUST BUNNiES under the bed and tarnished silver in the sideboard are easier for the average Joe to tolerate than a grisly, grimy bathroom.  A clean bathroom is hygienic and protects us from many harmful infections.  Medical journals state there is an alarming increase in the spread of urinary infections due to the deteriorating awareness among people leading to poor sanitation in bathrooms. 

HYGiENE MATTERS
Therefore, it is very important for all of us to take precautionary measures regarding the spread of infection and develop the habit of keeping our bathrooms clean for ourselves and for others.

iT iS RECOMMENDED that bathrooms be thoroughly cleaned once a week, and even more frequently if the use is heavy with a large family.

PHEW!  We don't live in the dark ages anymore with raw sewage flowing down our streets.   We are fortunate that most bathrooms are constructed with materials that are easy to clean.  A bucket with a few basic, quality cleaning supplies stored in the bathroom or nearby is a great reminder to 'Keep it Clean!'


FROM GRiMY TO PRiSTiNE CLEAN Following is a list of supplies and a checklist to keep cleaning on track.  Set aside 30 minutes or so (for small bathrooms) and move through the checklist one item at a time.  Clean the room well and it will be easier to clean and maintain on a weekly basis.

  • TUB/TiLE CLEANER for shower, sinks and toilet
  • SCRUBBY SPONGE
  • MiCROFiBER CLOTH
  • SPONGE MOP and BUCKET
  • BROOM and DUST PAN

  
Print a copy of the list.    
Pull on your rubber gloves  & turn up the tunes.
Start at the top of the cleaning task list. 
Check off  items as you finish them.

  • CLEAN LiGHT FiXTURES AND CEiLiNG VENT-FAN
  • CLEAN WiNDOW(s) AND SiLL
  • SCRUB SHOWER AND TUB WALLS, DOORS, TRACKS AND FLOOR
  • DiSiNFECT TOiLET BOWL AND SURROUNDING SURFACES
  • CLEAN AND DiSiNFECT SiNK, FAUCET AND COUNTER
  • POLiSH MiRROR
  • WiPE CABiNET EXTERiORS AND iNTERiORS
  • POLiSH TOWEL RACKS AND TOiLET PAPER HOLDER
  • REPLACE BATH TOWELS WiTH FRESH LiNENS
  • REMOVE TRASH / REPLACE TRASH CAN LiNER
  • SHAKE OR VACUUM THROW RUGS
  • WiPE BASEBOARD
  • SWEEP AND MOP FLOORING
