Appetizer: Bacon Wrapped Dates

BACON WRAPPED DATES
Paleo compliant
6 slices uncured bacon (Whole 30 - bacon without added sugars)
12 Medjool dates, pits removed
12 raw almonds (optional)
* Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
* Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
* Cut bacon strips in half.
* Carefully, cut a slit in the center of each date; remove the pit. Fill the slit with an almond, if desired.
* Wrap a piece of bacon around each date; secure with a toothpick and place on baking sheet.
* Bake for 10 minutes & turn over. Continue baking 5 or more minutes or until bacon is crisp.
* Serve warm.
