STRAIGHT UP KETCHUP

Try this tangy, mild BBQ sauce is dubbed 'Glorified Ketchup' at our house.  It is an all-purpose condiment perfect for beef, pork, chicken, bison, wild game, sweet potato fries and scrambled eggs.

STRAIGHT UP KETCHUP
 Paleo & Whole 30 compliant

1 small yellow or white onion
2 cloves garlic
1 (6oz) can organic tomato paste
1 (8oz) can El Pato tomato sauce (with chiles or jalapenos)
1/4 cup date paste  (see previous post for recipe)
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
4 Tablespoons organic Stone Ground Horseradish Mustard
2 Tablespoon natural liquid smoke
1-2 Tablespoons raw honey

1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 Tablespoon smoked paprika

* Peel onion and cut into large pieces.  Peel garlic; cut in half.  Add both to food processor or Ninja; pulse until contents are pureed.
* Add the rest of the ingredients and continue to pulse until smooth; mixture will be thick.
* Transfer sauce to a stainless steel saucepan and simmer on low for 30 minutes. Add a teaspoon or two of water if needed.
* Store sauce in a glass jar, in the refrigerator up to 3 weeks.
