"To sit alone in the lamplight with a book spread out before you,
and hold intimate converse with men of unseen generations
- such is a pleasure beyond compare."

BOOK NOOK
Is there someone living in your home who loves to read? Everyone needs a little privacy and space to breathe deeply, unwind and pause from the demands of life? That space can be hard to find if the living quarters feel crowded. The answer may be as simple as losing oneself in a good book!
The love of learning, the sequestered nooks,
And all the sweet serenity of books.
And all the sweet serenity of books.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
We're looking into using small spaces efficiently to meet the needs of clients, especially those who value learning and books. If literary volumes are a treasured possession in need of organization, then we have a few ideas and suggestions. How about carving a privacy 'BOOK NOOK' out of a closet!
In the photo below, on the left, a linen closet was turned into a reader's haven. With door and hinges removed, a bench seat and a few throw pillows were added. Build in a couple of sturdy shelves for books, add a reading light and... Voila! It's a cozy space for the book worm and a great place for anyone needing to steal a moment of solitude.

STORiNG TREASURED NOVELS
The photograph above and to the right showcases a closet converted into a library! It is outfitted with solid shelves and the door cut out then fitted with glass. A light was installed on the ceiling then the space was filled with wonderful novels! Everything has a place and is in its place! Now that's clever organization!
If you don't have a closet to convert into a library, how about an old suitcase? Books can be stored inside and cases stacked to serve as a bed stand.
A few other ideas for storing treasured novels in creative places...
from the end of hallways and over doorways to dining rooms, kitchens and stairwells.
Wherever they are placed, books add a cozy warmth to the space.

The photos speak for themselves. Afterall, a picture is worth a thousand words!
I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people
who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves.
